Applique Craft
Applique is a surface pattern that is used to decorate an aspect of a garment or product. It is exceedingly used in Textile Industry.
This craft is practiced mainly by women in the family. They do it in their leisure time to keep them busy and to earn money. Basic raw materials of Applique are fabrics and thread which create beautiful motifs on the products. The patterns are so attractive and colourful that people get attracted easily. This is a unique product handcrafted by artisans. This craft provide livelihood support to families of about 300-500 artisans on regular basis in Ara and Saran districts of Bihar.
