Manjusha Painting depicts stories. Their main characters are Chand Saudagar, Bishahari (Ma Mansa), Bihuli and Manjusha (name of the Chest, carrying the dead body of Lakhinder).

It’s an old tale of how a loving and devoted wife fights against all odds for her dead husband (Lakhinder) and brings him back to life. The significance of the painting is depicted by the three colors used in the painting i.e. green, yellow, and red on white background. Earlier Manjusha painting was used on Papers but now a day’s various surfaces are used as medium for this painting. The basic Raw material used are Canvas paper, Fabric and colour. This is a unique product handcrafted by artisans. Manjusha craft provide livelihood support to about 700-900 artisans families on regular basis in Bhagalpur district of Bihar.
